Laura J. Tocci was born and raised in Hopewell Township graduating from Hopewell High School in 1979 and subsequently attended The Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a degree in Business (Marketing).  Judge Tocci continued on to St. Mary’s University to obtain her law degree and returned home in 1986 taking a part-time position in the Beaver County District Attorney’s Office and Duplaga, Tocci, Palmieri, McMillen and Urick.

In 1988 Judge Tocci became a partner in the firm of McMillen, Urick, Tocci, and Jones.  Over her career as an attorney, Judge Tocci represented clients in a variety of matters but focused primarily on family matters and civil litigation.  Judge Tocci continued as a partner in her private law firm from 1990 until 2019 upon her election as Judge of the Court of Common Pleas of Beaver County. 

Judge Tocci has been a member of the Beaver County Bar Association since 1986, serving on the Board of Governors, Bar President and many committees. Her peers awarded her both the Judge Joseph J. Walko Service award in 2006 and the Judge James E. Ross Service award in 2013.

In the community, Judge Tocci is active at The Pennsylvania State University, Beaver Campus, serving on its Advisory Board and elected as President of the Board in 2021.  

Judge Tocci and her husband Bill have been married since 1993 and have 2 adult children, both Penn State graduates.
