Policy

Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania:
Official Case Records of the Magisterial District Courts

In accordance with the Judicial Code 42 Pa. C.S. § 4301(b), the Supreme Court has approved a policy to govern access to paper records of the Magisterial District Courts. Effective July 1, 2010, this new policy supplements the former procedures originally adopted in 1994 while reinforcing and continuing important principles that preserve and protect the transparency of court proceedings and records to the public. It provides updated protocols in accessing official case records that are filed with the Magisterial District Courts and maintained in the files pursuant to legal authority.

A public access request form, fee schedule and other detailed information related to this policy can be found via the links on this web page.
